2024-2025 Training & Season Summary:
13U to 16U - Fall 2024: Optional fall development sessions will be offered for hitting, pitching, and catching. They will be offered after school during the week and Saturday mornings. Development sessions will begin in mid-September and will run through mid-December. There will be a separate charge for these sessions. Private & small group sessions will be available. It is possible we could play a few tournaments locally or a fall ball league if we have enough players interested. We have also teamed up with GameShape Training for off-season strength & conditioning. Coach Shep will hold a demo day for new players that want to take advantage of their services. Coach McCloskey and Coach Kuna, who both pitched in college and professionally, will head up the pitching sessions. Coach Kapp, who played Division 1 in college and professionally, along with Coach Miller will head up the hitting & catching sessions.
13U & 14U - Winter/Spring 2025: We will practice three days per week beginning in mid-January and continuing up to the beginning of the MSBL/Tournament Season. We utilize the Team Coaching concept for all practices. All travel coaches will be at practice so that players can be broken down into small specialized groups. Your head coach will be at all practices in the off-season. Hitting & arm strength/conditioning twice per week. Defensive team practices on Saturday morning. Practices will be scheduled so that winter sport athletes can potentially make it to practice at least once per week. The tournament schedule will be developed based on the ability of our team. Tournament organizations will range from JP Sports, GameDay, PastTime, and Bullpen. Each offer quality tournaments. Each team will play in the MSBL for league play (15-20 games), and each team will play 6-8 tournaments (20-32 games).
15U & 16U - Winter 2025: We will practice three days per week beginning in mid-January and continuing up to the beginning of the high school season when the IHSA prohibits travel team practices. Tournament organizations will range from Bullpen (Grand Park), PastTime (Regional), PrimeTime (Local), Prep Baseball Report (National), and Perfect Game (National). Each offer quality tournaments that are scouted usually on Sundays during the championship rounds. This is typical for 15/16U tournaments throughout the country, especially since the NCAA has passed new recruitment guidelines limiting contact with potential players.
15U & 16U - Baseball Season 2025: The season will begin after the high school season has ended. We will play 8-10 tournaments. Tournaments will start on a local/regional basis and progress to regional/national quality tournaments. This should allow for a 35-45 game schedule. If we can not find a quality league to play in during the week (MSBL stops at 14U), then we will practice at least twice per week. We will also scrimmage with other teams from the Chicagoland area, which could include teams ranging in a 30-40 miles radius of Chicago. One additional option could also be the Tournament of Champions in Cincinnati in late July/early August if our level of play is good enough to compete.
